The country house
and its history
The quarry stone house with adjoining half-timbered barn, built around 1720, still exudes the charm of times gone by.
The impressive natural stone walls are an integral part of the house and create the character of the building. Large, rustic wooden beams in the barn are reminiscent of its former use for storing hay and grain, while the spacious design and high ceilings convey a feeling of space and freedom.
The combination of traditional architectural style and stylish, modern elements creates a unique atmosphere that makes you feel like you have been transported to another time, but without having to forego amenities such as a fully equipped kitchen or modern bathrooms.
The original design has been complemented with modern elements to create a comfortable and welcoming home for our guests.
Today, the former farmhouse serves as a holiday home, while two holiday apartments have been created in the former barn and not only offers you a journey into the past, but is also a place of peace and relaxation in the midst of the idyllic landscape of the Eifel at the foot of the striking Aremberg.

We are Mara, Stephanie & Rolf...
In 2021 we moved from the big city to the Ahr Valley. Why? Because it feels right every day! We enjoy life in the country and in nature, the Eifel holiday region became our home.

Sustainable by Conviction
Small Footprint - Big Impact
Energy
- We only use electricity from renewable energies, and since 2023 also from our own photovoltaic system. This system even produces more electricity than is consumed in the Landhaus am Aremberg over the course of a year.
- With the help of digital room thermostats we save around 20% of heating energy.
Water
- The garden and the pond are irrigated using rainwater collected in the in-house well.
- Eco shower heads reduce water consumption by approx. 30% while maintaining the same level of shower comfort.
Waste Prevention
- Each residential unit has appropriate containers for correct waste separation, and a large portion of it can be recycled in this way.
- By using refill packs we avoid unnecessary waste.
- We completely avoid using disposable hygiene products in the bathroom.
Regionality
- We only commission regional craftsmen with short travel distances.
- We support local retail and local restaurants, please see our recommendations in the guest folder.
- We are a partner company of Eifel Tourism (ET) and live the idea of a strong location with conviction.
Ecology
- No chemicals or harmful substances are used in our garden.
- We ensure a diverse range of plants and offer native animals hiding places and nesting sites.
- Only sustainably certified products are used for cleaning and detergents.
- We participate in the jungle project of Wohlleben's Forest Academy and thus help to permanently bind CO2 in the forest.
